The Boardman West Facility project in Boardman, OR, involves replacing freeze tunnels on L1, L2, and L4 while implementing frozen grading improvements, all executed within an active plant to minimize outage durations. The work includes building additions, modifications, and major utility infrastructure upgrades, highlighted by a new ammonia refrigeration system, upgraded electrical service and distribution, and the conversion of existing spaces to support operations. Phase one focused on a dry supply building addition, refrigeration system installation, and initial electrical upgrades completed during a tightly coordinated outage, along with constructing a new L4 frozen grading deck. Phase two includes demolition of existing systems, construction of a new process building, installation of new freeze tunnels and grading equipment, and final integration of refrigeration and process systems, requiring precise sequencing and coordination to maintain ongoing plant operations.
