Costco Wholesale - Richland, Washington

Lydig Construction served as the general contractor for the new Costco Wholesale facility in Richland, Washington. This 182,000 SF warehouse and fuel station was constructed on a 29.5-acre site and included comprehensive site development, utility installation, off-site parcel improvements, and over 1,000 parking spaces, including electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The building features a pre-engineered metal structure with insulated metal wall and roof panels, all delivered under a demanding schedule and rigorous safety protocols. The warehouse also showcases a 20,000SF Member Distribution Operations (MDO) space, enhancing Costco’s logistics and fulfillment capabilities. Notably, this project is the first new Costco warehouse in Washington State to incorporate a solar power system—an important component of Costco’s Climate Action Plan, supporting its commitment to clean energy and long-term sustainability.

Lydig collaborated closely with trade partners and the City of Richland to navigate complex site conditions and infrastructure connections, including road and utility improvements along Kennedy and Truman Roads.

The Richland Costco represents another successful large-scale retail development for Lydig, providing a durable and functional facility tailored to Costco’s operational requirements and supporting continued growth in the Tri-Cities region.
