This project delivered two new facilities at Big Bend Community College to support expanded technical education programs. The primary Technical Education Center combines high‑bay laboratories and academic space for automotive, welding, fabrication, maintenance mechanics, computer science, and STEM instruction, while a separate Auto Mechanics Training Facility replaced an existing airplane hangar.
Construction was completed on an occupied campus adjacent to an active airfield and phased to allow early use of key instructional spaces, accommodate summer demolition, and support a late‑added computer science build‑out. Careful coordination allowed relocation of the hangar door without disrupting ongoing coursework, maintaining both campus and aviation operations throughout the project.
