This modern Student Recreation Center delivers a high‑capacity, multi‑use athletic and wellness destination, thoughtfully designed to support competition, recreation, and student life on an active campus.
Lydig completed the 100,000+ SF Columbia Basin College Student Recreation Center using the GC/CM delivery method, reinforcing its extensive experience delivering complex projects on active campuses. The new facility replaced the existing gym and fitness center and consolidates athletics, student recreation, and support functions into clearly defined yet interconnected zones. Program elements include competitive and practice basketball‑volleyball courts, multi-sports courts, fitness centers on two levels, athletic locker rooms and support spaces, activity classrooms, and administrative and student support offices. High‑volume spaces are unified by a central north–south lobby, with additional mechanical systems housed above, while demolition and site improvements completed the campus transformation.
