Alma Clark Glass Hall reflects a commitment to inclusive community, sustainability, and resilience, creating a student‑centered living environment that supports connection, learning, and legacy.
The 117,340 SF Alma Clark Glass Hall is a 400‑bed student housing facility designed to foster community, flexibility, and student well‑being. Residential amenities include suite-style living, study areas, multiple lounges for quiet or collaborative use, community kitchens, and a large multi-purpose room that supports group study, special events, and social cooking. The building also incorporates essential support functions such as staff offices, laundry, storage, bike storage, and custodial spaces. Delivered as Western’s first Design‑Build project, the hall achieved LEED® Gold certification, successfully navigated the construction challenges of the COVID‑19 pandemic, and is dedicated to Alma Clark Glass, who became the university’s first African American student in 1906.
