Central Washington University’s 120,000 SF Science Building brings teaching, research, and collaboration together in a single, forward‑looking campus destination. The facility supports multiple scientific disciplines through a diverse mix of instructional spaces, specialized research labs, offices, and outdoor learning environments. Advanced program elements, including a planetarium, observatory tower, anechoic chamber, cold room, and unique lecture spaces, are balanced with shared student collaboration areas that encourage interdisciplinary exchange. Designed as an interactive educational resource, the building showcases scientific exploration through its architecture, integrated technology, and visible building systems. Constructed with a concrete structure, refined exterior materials, and high‑quality interior finishes, the facility incorporates sustainable strategies and is designed to achieve LEED® Gold certification while serving as a cornerstone of CWU’s evolving Science Neighborhood.
