Cheney High School was modernized with new learning environments, fitness and performance spaces, and infrastructure upgrades to support student success.
The Cheney High School modernization transformed an occupied campus through a combination of new construction and strategic renovation. The project added 100,000 SF of new space and remodeled 60,000 SF, connecting two buildings into a cohesive school environment while classes remained in session. A later 94,000 SF expansion further enhanced the campus with new classrooms, shop spaces, a student commons, a 500‑seat auditorium, an auxiliary gym, wrestling and fitness facilities, a new kitchen, STEM and administrative wings, greenhouse spaces, and a central mechanical plant. Site upgrades, including improved parking and stormwater systems, addressed longstanding flooding issues, resulting in a modern, fully integrated high school designed for long‑term growth and student success.
