Lake Washington High School Addition & Gymnasium

The Lake Washington High School was a phased expansion that delivered new academic, commons, and athletic spaces while keeping the high school fully operational.
This project upgraded an occupied 225,000 SF high school campus with new classroom, commons, and athletic spaces delivered through carefully phased construction. The work included a 47,000 SF, two‑story classroom addition with 20 new classrooms, a 4,000 SF expansion of the commons that improved circulation and connected the main building to the gym, and a 24,000 SF auxiliary gymnasium with seating for 2,000, additional practice courts, and expanded locker rooms. The improvements enhanced accessibility, gathering areas, and performance spaces by being built concurrently in phases, allowing spaces to open as they were completed, strengthening the school’s role as both an everyday learning environment and a hub for evening and weekend community events.
