The Mount Vernon High School modernization included phased upgrades across a historic campus, beginning with the expansion and renovation of the 1921 Fine Arts Building. The project doubled the building’s size from 7,000 to 14,000 SF and transformed it into a centralized administrative hub with offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and support spaces. Work included structural upgrades to the unreinforced masonry building, abatement, full interior renovation, new MEP systems, window replacement, and roof improvements, all while preserving the historic exterior and maintaining campus operations. Early completion of this building was critical to relocating staff and enabling subsequent campus-wide improvements.
