Daniel Bagley Elementary School

A comprehensive school modernization and expansion increasing student capacity while preserving historic character and enhancing learning spaces.
The project expanded student capacity from 353 to 503 students in grades K-5 through a combination of renovation and new construction. The original 39,000 SF elementary school underwent structural upgrades, selective demolition and abatement, installation of new MEP systems, and updated finishes throughout. Historic elements, including the main stairways and the student dining hall with its carved beams and tall north-facing windows, were carefully restored, while the brick and cast stone exterior was cleaned and preserved. The project also added a 13,800 SF, two-story classroom wing with eight new classrooms, a 4,400 SF gymnasium addition that doubled the existing gym’s size, and a 3,000 SF covered play area, along with supporting site improvements.
